How do I stay regular with my exercise?

I find this hard. I’ve gone on exercise programs before, that’s no problem. But I have the hardest time trying to stick to them. I’d really like too, but I always end up stopping it. How can I fix this?

make a goal, and then if you reach it do something nice for yourself.

Make sure you don’t over do it too soon and burn yourself out. Vary your exercises, try to do things that don’t seem like exercising like parking your car in a spot far from the door of the store so you get some extra walking in. Try to make it a habit, make yourself do something active everyday.

Take up something that you like to do, and try to vary it. You can try to join a gym, and do something each day. Run on Monday, swim on Tuesdays, bike on Wednesday. (something like that). Try to find a exercise buddy, so you can motivate each other.
Or you can try to exercise on Mondays-Friday and get your weekends off.
Remember to give yourself rewards. =]
Good luck! you can do it!! Just keep pushing yourself towards that goal!

You do have to take a break every now and than. I workout for 6 weeks straight and than take a week off, than start up again. I however, love going to the gym, because I like gainning muscle and getting more muscular. Hoever, I only go twice a week because my body needs alot of rest to gain muscle. I recommend 3 times a week, is a good balance. Just workout hard and focus when your there. You really have to enjoy your workouts, and if they get boring switch it up.
Try getting a trainner at the gym, they can help you with a program and they should ask you questions about motivation and all that.

Best way, i think, to do this is take a before and after picture to show yourself how much better you are doing. Maybe you could write down on a piece of paper what your weight goal is and put it in a place you will always see it. You could also get a photo of someone you would like to look like to inspire you. Each time you look at the photo or your set goal you should visualize what you will look and feel like. You might want to take measurements every three weeks or so to show your progress.

well it is a tuff thing to stick to. start a journal and keep track of your excercise and eating. that way it becomes a routine. after a couple weeks it will become a habit and you will see results and feel better. its kind of like trying to quit smoking, its difficult at first, but with time it gets easier.

I have to schedule exercise. I know it sounds cheesy, but I give myself a star on the calendar for everyday I exercise. I AM in training for the “3-day Walk” to walk 60 miles in 3 days to raise money for ****** cancer research. This is something that means something to me as a young survivor.
