Is it ok to exercise twice a day? How much time should you give your muscles a rest between exercise routines?

I’m curious as to whether a second exercise routine in the day is beneficial as a part of a healthy lifestyle. I exercised for an hour earlier in the day, ate too much for dinner, and am now wondering whether I should exercise again before I go to sleep.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it at all! I think that you know your limits, if you feel you’ve had enough and are ready for a break, take one.

    It can’t hurt I don’t think. :)

Exercising multiple times a day is not bad for you. In fact, a lot of serious resistant trainers follow this same routine. It boosts your metabolism (basically increase your internal body temperature) and keeps you pumped.

The one reason I would stray from it right now, is that you have recently had a meal. From the sounds it, a heavy meal at that. Working out may make you feel sick, wait an hour or two and then hit it up.
