How do you exercise your puppy when the weather is unusually bad?

My puppy has really fine fur right now and gets cold very easily. I’ve tried bundling her up but she’s always still cold.
How can I give her enough exercise in the house and make sure she doesn’t get too bored?

I have a Yorkie, and in the winters here up north, I have the same problem.
I make sure that I spend a bit more time with my dog, playing on the floor with him. We have arranged the furniture in our living room so that the living room flows right into the kitchen and entry hall way. My pup can break out in a full run between all of the rooms.
Since our dog is a ratter, we got an electronic mouse last year. It runs on a remote, like a car. My hubby LOVES to play with the dog with this mouse. And the dog loves the mouse. It’s the coolest thing to watch him chase it around and under the couch and stuff. We found a cheaper stuffed mouse to give the dog so he will still think it’s the electronic mouse, without him chewing up the expensive one!
The treadmill thing works… if you have one. We dont. And we dont have the money to go out and buy one. But I know it doesnt work. My best friend has one that she puts her pom on in the winters.

a treadmill. put a leash on the dog, and train her by giving her treats only when she walks forward. Treats are best when given only at first.

You should play with her inside. For example teach her to retrieve with tennis balls.

Make sure you play with her alot and you could always buy a treat ball that will keep her occupied for ages. I sometimes get a piece of rope (longish) and hang it from the top of the door with her favourite toy at the end, usually the puppy will sit there and tug for a while. Playing ball keeps a dog very fit and make sure you are grooming her everyday to keep her muscles firm as she wont be going out for walks

Some people use a tread mill. I’ve heard it works wonders for doggies health and state of mind.

Get some toy’s for your dog…like a tennis ball. That way you can throw it around your house and make some room for your dog to run around. Get toy’s that your dog will want to chase. I have a small dog and he gets his exercise from running around the house.
And if your dog doesn’t want to chase the ball or toys try some treats for reward!

Puppies love tug-a-war. Have a little pulling match and she’ll be happy. Also, if you have a room where there are not too many damageable things, you may want to throw a ball or some other toy….works for my dog!

you could make brain toys get an empty cereal box and some newspaper wrap up some treats (i use chicken) and stuff the box with the wrapped treats and some newspaper till its full up and your dog will have fun getting the treats.

Gentle games of fetch in the house are helpful. Or playing ‘hide-and-seek’. Toss a toy - for the dog to go fetch… when the dog has it’s back turned… you run and hide behind a door or on the other side of the couch or in the bathroom. The dog comes back with the toy… only to have to go find you! My dogs LOVE this game!
A treadmill can come in handy. But they take a lot of time and patience to teach your dog to use!
