I started exercise program June 1st & noticed slight weight gain. Could this be muscle mass?

yes…muscle weighs more than fat!!! You can measure your progress by inches…I bet your clothes are looser.

NO, The most important thing is that what exercise program you are following? and for what reason? How much weight have you gain? whats your age? whats your height? Generally in 7 days of a vigorous exercise program you can gain a slight muscle mass but not the weight which bothers you.

yes it is normal. but it can also be water gain. make sure you are drinking plenty of water. if you feel bloated, go to the pharamcy and buy water pills. it is an aid to help you release any excess water in your system. if you are exercise to lose weight, dont do weights in the beginning, because body fat will turn into muscle and it will be harder to lose them later. do more like the treadmeill, stare master, areobics, floor execrise.
but if u are doing exercise to gain muscle, then continue to do what you are doing.
